The Weather Changes

Unpredictable weather is the biggest challenge we face as outdoor creators. We love shooting outside and after years of negotiating with the weather gods we have found many ways to circumvent their surprises.

Difficult weather conditions don’t always mean cancelling a shoot! Why not have a little fun instead?

Raining?

We’ll use umbrellas and rain coats to dress our models and incorporate it into the shoot!

Or we’ll find great looking shelters to shoot in, there are so many beautiful doorways, arches, canopies and pagodas, all providing a hideaway while adding visual impact to the shots.

Or we’ll run through it and capture a live soaking.

Scorching sunshine?

Rare, but also not a problem. We’ll find shade, use gorgeous dappled light under the trees or shoot in a shadow of a building or in a gazebo.

We can use a fan in our shots allowing our model to stay cool while looking like a pop princess. Sometimes we’ll simply lean into the sunshine theme and bust out ice creams and water guns!

The bottom line is, there are many things that can be done other than cancel a shoot and we are pretty good at finding creative ways to turn weather predicaments into positives that often work in favour of a project.

In fact, sometimes the limitations presented by the weather lead to great discoveries and inspire fabulous performances from those in front of our lens.

So we invite you to say “boo-hoo” to the forecast and LOL in the face of adversity with us! Fun vibes only.
