Does organizing a trip abroad with your beloved SLR fill you with dread?

The idea of sand in all those crevices, sticky Sangria fingers and lost or stolen equipment can bring your work-cation to a grinding halt. So I have a few simple tips to free up your creativity and help you become a jet setting, beach loving, mountain hiking photographer.

1. Invest in a carry on smart fit camera bag.

They’re easy to transport and knowing your kit is safe in the overhead compartment is a good start to a stress free trip.

2. Take a second smaller shoulder strap bag.

These are handy for short day trips or just for easy access to extra lenses, batteries or memory cards. Make sure your clothes suitable for the job.

Wear something everyday with pockets! Try finger-less gloves for a snowy trip and I can’t stress enough about the importance of good foot ware my friends.

3. Use factor 30 quick dry oil spray.

As it doesn’t grease your fingers and effect buttons.

4. Don’t forget to tell your insurers.

They like to know these things you see.

So wherever you’re photography takes you, don’t let the small things get in the way of your photographic fun and get exploring!
